Mui Ne

29.07.2011 – 31.07.2011

Getting to Mui Ne from Hoi An took a while and involved two sleeper buses (just one night though). It was our first go at taking one of these buses - if you're tired enough you can sleep pretty much anywhere.

Mui Ne is a resort town, especially popular for wind and kite surfing. We're travelling in the low season (ture for nearly all of our destinations), so the conditions weren't too favourable for watersports - the beach is pretty wild and the waves were quite large. Everyday there was about one hour of torrential rain, which was great as the weather ended up being refreshingly cool! It is a beautiful place, and after many busy days it was good to have a few days of doing very little.

Just a few kilometres away there are sand dunes, quite unique to South East Asia. We walked up to the top of them and jumped off!

Giulie got very exited seeing all the sand

Besides walking on the beach, eating good seafood and jumping off sand dunes, we read books on our very nice beach-side bungalow (Giulie even persuaded me to start reading His Dark Materials.)

Ciao, ciao!

Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City as nobody calls it) awaits!
