Railay Beach

After a night in Hat Yai, early transport to Krabi (tuk-tuk from Hat Yai to the out-of-town bus station, a bus to Krabi bus station, a taxi to Krabi town, and another taxi to Ao Nang) we caught a long tail boat to Railay Beach (Hat Rai Leh). There was definitely something true to what an American backpacker greeted us with upon arrival: `welcome to Railay Beach man, the most beautiful place on earth'. Limestone cliffs and jungle surround the mangrove beach on Railay east. Five minutes walk away is Railay East where the sandy beach is only interrupted by an occasional long tail boat.

The limestone cliffs of Railay are known by climbers all over the world, and after our first night here in our beautiful bungalow, we rented guide and gear for half a day of climbing.

Tomorrow we're off on a day trip to Koh Phi Phi, one of the most famous beaches of Thailand.
